LICENSE TO CARRY PROCEDURE

STUDENTS LOCAL TO HOUSTON

Go to https://txapps.texas.gov/txapp/txdps/ltc/ Click the link to apply for an original License to Carry, complete the application, and pay the $40 State Fee. You may then print the needed forms, including the new law book.
You will receive an email to set up your fingerprint appointment. (Note: You can have your fingerprints done before or after taking the class.) The fingerprinting fee is $10 and is paid directly to the fingerprinting company.
If you’re local to Houston, you will take the class online and contact us to complete the range safety class and shooting proficiency test.
- The LTC class includes:
  - 4 hours of instruction
  - A Written and Shooting proficiency test
  - Completed LTC-100 Certification to submit to the state

State28Armory is certified under Texas GC 411.188 and GC 411.190 to administer the LTC Online Course (classroom instruction only).

You must submit all completed paperwork to the State of Texas through the DPS Website

If you are new to gun shooting this training will help you get familiar with firearms.

We will train you on components, unload/reload, the difference in calibers, proper grip technique, and how to shoot accurately.

We are currently training in the Greater Houston Metropolitan area in Texas.

If you’re not local to Houston. You can take the 4-hour required lecture portion of the class with us online from the comfort of your home on your phone or computer.
Once you complete the class, we will email you the LTC-101 for the classroom completion. You would then take the LTC-101 to a local LTC-certified instructor to complete the in-person shooting portion of the LTC requirements.
